PRISMAoffice is a server solution that provides a powerful spooler that supports many different network protocols. The spooler integrates into virtually every network environment and prints from every PCL application. PRISMAoffice accepts PCL data via Ethernet (TCP/IP) or Token Ring and outputs the data to a high performance Océ Production Printing Systems PCL printer or any other PCL network printer.
When it comes to PCL printing, standard spoolers provide only minimum functionality. For instance, print jobs can only be halted, canceled or completely reprinted. In a desktop environment these limitations are acceptable. But for high volume departmental printing, this level of functionality translates into data loss and increased paper usage. In addition, the standard spoolers do not fully support the advanced functions of the Océ high performance printers. To address these demands, Océ has developed PRISMAoffice which provides optimum printer control to PCL users.
