True continuous tone photographic imaging for superior backlit and reflective prints

The unit uses continuous tone photographic media, which means each point on an image can be any shade of 68 billion colors. The higher range of possible colors results in more accurate representation of color-sensitive subjects, such as skin tone. The 300 dpi continuous tone images provide a visual resolution of 4,000 dpi.

The Océ LightJet 500XL is the fastest wide format photo imager in its class with a print speed of up to 496 square feet (46.08 m2). A full-sized 72" x 120" (194 x 306 cm) image printed at 200 dpi takes less than 8 minutes to complete.
