Big dreams start small
This is especially true when it comes to fueling the futures of young authors. To help inspire students with a passion for writing, Océ North America Production Printing Systems has created the Océ Future Authors Project, a free program offered in partnership with the School District of Palm Beach County. Sponsors for this year's workshop include the Lawrence Sanders Foundation, Xplor International and the BankAtlantic Foundation.

Now in its fourth year, the project's free eight-day summer workshop provides students with insight into the process of writing, editing and digitally publishing books through instruction by certified teachers, interactions with Océ experts, and insight from local published authors.

The program is offered to Palm Beach County middle and high school students selected by local language arts teachers

based on academic achievement and interest in becoming published authors. Throughout the workshop, students work on writing poems, essays, and short stories, and polishing their writing, story development, and critical thinking skills. Writings from each student are compiled and digitally printed and bound in final book form by Océ. The completed book is unveiled at a book-signing hosted by the Boca Raton library.
