Introducing the Océ PlotWave 900, Steadfast Reliability for Productive Printing
February 9, 2012, Trumbull, CT Océ, a Canon Group Company and an international leader in digital document management and delivery, today announced the launch of its new Océ PlotWave® 900 printing system. Designed for the high-speed, high-volume technical drawing environment, the Océ PlotWave 900 printing system has the speed, reliability and flexibility to meet the productivity needs of high production users. This system is the next evolution of the award-winning Océ TDS800 Pro system with proven Océ technologies.
"Print volumes are stabilizing, and we expect to see growth in the coming years," said Sal Sheikh, Vice President, Marketing, Wide Format Printing Systems, Océ North America. "As the construction market improves, reprographic print providers will need a system that will allow them to focus on growing their businesses again. The new Océ PlotWave 900 printing system provides the quality print shops need to differentiate themselves in the market and serious productivity power to get the job done, all built on the legendary Océ Copy Press technology."
High Volume Throughput
The Océ PlotWave 900 printing system was developed based on the company's long experience in high volume printing. It prints up to 10 E-size prints per minute, even when printing mixed sets, to help print providers meet very short deadlines and faster turnarounds. The short paper path of Océ Copy Press technology reduces maintenance and increases uptime by virtually eliminating frustrating paper jams. Users can print on different sizes of media from six media rolls, at consistent speeds, with automatic switching for uninterrupted printing. They can save further time with the optional folder/puncher and double decker stacker options.
Safe, Reliable Investment
The Océ PlotWave 900 printing system was built to run in high-volume and high-stress environments. Hard-wearing parts have been designed to last for many years, and when you purchase an Océ service contract with the Océ PlotWave 900 system, you can have the confidence that your investment is protected and that you will enjoy unparalleled up-time operation, making this system a safe long-term investment. Based on core Océ technologies, owners can easily swap out the core print engine and re-use the Océ scanner, folder and stacker peripherals, which reduces the initial investment greatly. All of this helps companies increase their profit margins.
Outstanding Print Quality
Every year, millions of dollars are lost in the architectural, engineering and construction industries due to misinterpreted drawings from poor quality reproductions. The Océ PlotWave 900 printer delivers the best reproduction quality in its class through 600 dpi print quality, advanced image processing and Océ Copy Press technology. The system produces crisp line drawings, clear grayscale reproduction of color originals, distortion-free photo enlargements and smoothly rasterized documents without moiré artifacts. Improvements in the toner unit help ensure that solid black areas are printed consistently over time.
The Océ PlotWave 900 printer helps create a cleaner, more comfortable working environment. Océ Copy Press technology uses no developer and 100% of its toner, so there is no waste for disposal. The closed toner system keeps messy toner inside the machine and off hands and clothes. Image fusing takes place at a much lower temperature compared with conventional technologies, which reduces energy consumption during print runs.
Better Job Management
Keeping the production line going requires more than just high-speed throughput. The Océ PlotWave 900 printer is supported by smart print management applications in the Océ Repro Desk® suite that make it easier for operators to keep everything moving smoothly and efficiently. A web-based interface lets users control print jobs via the network for more flexibility. Convenient advance-alert functions and on-the-fly refills of toner mean no unnecessary stops. The status beacon on top of the printer grabs the attention of the operator when their intervention is required to prevent delays and production stops.
